Wear appropriate footwear:

Buy shoes at the end of the day. Shoes should feel comfortable immediately. Have the length and width of your feet measured first. Avoid flip flops.

Look for shoes that have:

  • A deep, round wide toe box
  • A strong heel counter
  • Laces are preferred if not then velcro
  • Removable insole
  • Leather is a good choice of material
  • All shoes should be worn with socks
  • Soles should be strong and flexible
  • Avoid high heels (they can cause cramping of the toes, cause back aches and change the way you walk)
  • Heel should not be higher than 1-1.5 inches
  • New shoes should only be worn for about 2 hours on the fist day
